Research

There are three research sections, namely “Eco”, “Geo”, and “Socio”, in Hyogo Park of the Oriental White Stork. The sections focus on ecology, mainly reintroduction project of the Oriental White Stork, on geology, mainly activities of San-in Kaigan Geopark, and Sociological studies related to regional society and history. All research staffs are also the staffs of the graduate school (Graduate School of Regional Resource Management, University of Hyogo) to research and educate specific issues related to regional resources.

Among three research sections, Eco section takes on a role in research of reintroduction of the storks in cooperation with the related research fields and administrative sectors. Geo section researches the geoparks and geological issues mainly focusing on San-in Kaigan Geopark, authorized as a world one. Socio section treats states of regional society that is influenced by the earth as the base and presence of creature living on it, at the same time has impact to them.

The campus of the graduate school (Toyooka Geo & Konotori Campus) is located in the ground of Hyogo Park of the Oriental White Stork. Twenty and several graduate students are studying regional resources in the campus with productive research environment and study fields surrounding the campus.
